Interest Groups 2007—2008

These interest groups meet regularly and offer you the chance to participate in activities, learn new skills, go to a museum, or do almost anything you would like to do but may not want to do alone.

Book Discussion Group

This group meets once a month to discuss a common book and also to share personal favorites with one another.

 

Community Helpers

This has been created to highlight organizations in need and to help people pair up with the right organization for them.

 

Daytime Events

Includes fun seasonal and community-minded activities, such as pumpkin decorating and flower arranging.

 

Daytrippers

Once a month, a group will venture to the city to be tourists together, visiting museums and other attractions. 

 

English Conversation

If you are new to this country and this language, this group is a wonderful opportunity for you.

 

French Conversation

Are you a Francophile?  Practice your French speaking and explore French culture in this group. 

 

International Recipe Exchange

If you enjoy cooking and learning how to prepare dishes from all over the world, this group is for you.

 

Kids at Play

An intimate group of moms (and occasionally dads) and their tots meet at the Presbyterian Church every other Friday.  The organizers can also help you find a smaller age-specific playgroup.

 

Lunch Bunch

All kinds of local restaurants are explored by Lunch Bunch.

 

Networking Group

Each month a different professional topic is explored, from finding the right career to navigating through work visa issues.

 

Patchwork

Whether you’re a novice or experienced quilter, come work on your own project in the company of a great group.

 

Road Runners

If you want some company while you run, come join this group.  It’s a great way to get yourself out there exercising again (or training for your next marathon).

 

Spanish Conversation

For those who want to practice their Spanish in a fun and interactive manner without feeling intimidated.
